Marlene Mizzi and Roberta Metsola, and Claudette Abela Baldacchino are the first Maltese women to become Member of the European Parliament. All female, for a 50% gender balance.
They were elected to fill the seats vacated by Edward Scicluna, Louis Grech and Simon Busuttil.
The new MEPs will hold their seats for one year, since the scheduled European Parliament elections will be held next year.
