Friday evening saw the launch of a new novel, ‘The Cross,’ by George Gauci. The event, which also included a book signing, attracted a large number of people to Il-Hagar | Heart of Gozo Museum, in St George’s Square, Victoria.
The Cross takes the reader back in time to 1908, when a widower falls in love with a woman and follows the family through their strong Catholic belief, upbringing, their love, their pain and their happiness, over the years to World War Two and after.
It is a journey across the twentieth century, packed with drama, intrigue and historical insight, set on both islands of Malta and Gozo.
‘The Cross’ is pubished in English and this first edition is in hard back with a dust jacket and is priced at just €15 per copy.
George was born in Qormi, Malta but now lives on Gozo with his wife and family.
Congratulations on you first book, a lot of thought and hard work goes into writing, and at times self doubt, but worth it when you have the end product in your hand and better still in other peoples hands and homes. Well done for a good night.
