This week saw the commencement of the Paris (Orly) twice weekly operation to Malta for summer 2013. As the flight touched down the Malta Airport Fire & Rescue welcomed it with a water arch on the taxiway before it taxied onto the main apron.

Passengers were welcomed with flowers handed out by dancers in traditional Maltese costumes.

For the event, Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Karmenu Vella; the French Ambassador to Malta H.E. Michel Vandepoorter; Malta Tourism Authority CEO Josef Formosa Gauci and Malta Airport CEO Markus Klaushofer were in attendance.

Malta Airport also prepared a cake for the occasion, highlighting the airline’s brand as well as two very important landmarks, i.e. Paris’ Eiffel Tower and Malta’s Neolithic temples.
