Dr Emanuel Buttigieg will be giving a public lecture at the National Library of Malta on the subject of ‘The Hospitaller Body: On being a religous knight rather that a lascivious effeminate man.’
Dr. Emanuel Buttigieg is a Lecturer in early modern history at the University of Malta. He read for a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge (Peterhouse), under the supervision of Dr Mary Laven (Jesus College).
His first book, Nobility, Faith and Masculinity: The Hospitaller Knights of Malta, c.1580-c.1700, was published by Continuum of London and New York in 2011.
The lecture, which has been organised by the National Library of Malta, will be delivered in English and is taking place on Friday, the 24th of May, starting at 7.00pm. There will be light refreshments to follow.
