The Police were called at around 7.15am this morning to an incident in the vicinities of the Fungus Rock, San Lawrenz, Gozo after a man fell in the sea and was in difficulties.

The 29-year-old man from San Lawrenz Gozo had been fishing in the vicinity of Fugus Rock when he fell into the sea.

Civil protection were called on site who rescued the man out of the sea and ambulance took him to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment.

Later the Police was informed that the man was not in danger of loosing his life but had suffered serious injuries.
