The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo recently visited the work carried out at Simirat Valley in Ghajnsielem.

The valley, which runs behind the houses at Simirat Street, has been cleared of weeds and unwanted undergrowth, as well as sand and building material. This is the first time that the valley has been cleaned in the last 54 years

The project was carried out by the Ghajnsielem Local Council and was funded through eco-Gozo.

The whole valley, starting from beneath the arches at Borg Gharib street, leading to the valley beneath the Amabile Cauchi Playing Field, has now been restored to its original state.

The Council said that during excavation works an old well was discovered below the reservoir wall.
