On the occasion of Herman Van Rompuy’s visit to Malta, Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, Prof Arnold Cassola said, “President Van Rompuy should not measure the traditional generosity of the Maltese people on the basis of the illegal and heartless proposals of their Prime Minister. The majority of the Maltese have a great heart.”
Prof Cassola continued, “Having said this, it is an urgent and prime duty of Herman van Rompuy to persuade the European Council of Ministers to adopt the concept of solidarity in practice, responsibility sharing and to revise the Dublin convention. Persuasion of the Libyan authorities to ratify the Geneva Convention is also an urgent must,”
