As the popular President’s Fun Run brings charity once more to the local community on the morning of Sunday 1st December, Arriva Malta wishes to advise customers of a number of diversions taking place.
In collaboration with the Office of the President, the Police and transport authorities, some bus services will be diverted for the safety of participants, volunteers and all involved. Services affected will mostly comprise the main routes to Valletta which coincide with the Fun Run course including services passing through Attard, Birkirkara, Hamrun, Santa Venera and Blata l-Bajda.
As participants make their way from the President’s Residence in San Anton to Valletta, authorities will be closing of a number of roads to traffic and buses will diverted accordingly. Bus services may also be affected throughout the remainder of the day while roads are reopened and bus schedules return to normal.
St. Anne Street in Floriana will be closed to traffic towards Valletta between 10:00hrs and 12:00hrs meaning that Valletta Bus Station will also be closed. Buses to Valletta will be diverted through Xatt l-Ghassara tal-Gheneb to St. Anne Street Floriana where passengers can alight / board. Buses will be unable to wait and will therefore proceed immediately with the outbound journey down St Anne Street. Meanwhile, route 133 – the circular service through Valletta – will be unable to operate between 11:00hrs and 12:00hrs
Arriva urges customers to keep this information in mind when planning their travel this Sunday. Further information is available from Customer Care Centre on 2122-2000 or via email to enquiries@arriva.com.mt.
