The Gaulitanus Choir will be celebrating the start of the New Year 2014 with a concert this evening at the Exhibition Hall of the Ministry for Gozo in St Francis Square.

Entitled ‘A New Year’s Toast – 2,’ the concert will be directed by by the choir’s founder-director Colin Attard and accompanied by Stephen Attard and will present a varied repertoire chosen for this festive day.

Four Christmas Songs by Don Besig will be receiving their Malta premiere. Three rhythmic and bouncy numbers follow: Charles Rosen’s Christmas Gloria, David Willcocks’s A Birthday Carol and Alleluia! Gloria! from the musical ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ by Vann Trapp and Tom Fettke.

The choir, including the soloists and a backing instrumental ensemble, will bring the concert to a truly festive ending with ‘New Year’s Medley – 2,’ a medley of ever-popular Neapolitan songs.

Violinist Pierre Louis Attard, back home for Yuletide from his studies in Scotland, will join in the entertainment with some solo numbers.

The concert starts at 7.30pm, oneWednesday, the 1st of January and is being supported by the Gozo Cultural Office and Bank of Valletta, entrance is free of charge and everyone is invited to attend.
