Seven new have been appointed during a ceremony held at the Police General Headquarters, on Wednesday.
The newly appointed Assistant Commissioners are: Dr Mario Spiteri, Mr Norbert Ciappara, Mr Laurence Cutajar, Mr Carmelo Magri, Mr Silvio Valletta, Mr Martin Sammut and Mr Stephen Gatt.
The Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security Dr Emanuel Mallia and the Commissioner of Police Mr Peter Paul Zammit were present during this ceremony.

Speaking as an ex police officer and bearing in mind the labour party’s policy of putting their own people in places of authority I hope these are not political appointments.
