February's industrial production up on previous month, & down on 2013Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 5.1 per cent in February over the previous month. When compared to February 2013, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 0.3 per cent, the National Statistics said today.

In February, the overall index of industrial production increased by 5.1 per cent to 99.7 points. Increases were registered in the production of consumer goods (+9.9 per cent), intermediate goods (+9.4 per cent) and capital goods (+0.9 per cent). On the other hand, a decrease was registered in the production of energy (-1.3 per cent).

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production went down by 0.3 per cent. Decreases were registered in the production of intermediate goods (-10.0 per cent) and energy (-0.4 per cent).

On the other hand, increases were registered in the production of capital goods (+12.0 per cent) and consumer goods (+2.4 per cent).
