Following the completion of training for members of the Active Ageing Unit team at St Vincent de Paul Residence, the Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing Justyne Caruana inaugurated and presented official certificates of completion to the workers.
The Parliamentary Secretary said that this Unit is important as it is helping to keep elderly residents at St Vincent de Paul more active, and this way the Government is ensuring better quality of life for these residents.
She added that the unit organises activities for residents as well as outings outside the residence. Dr Caruana praised the members of this team as they are pioneers for the completion of the active ageing concept, which is being promoted by the Parliamentary Secretariat, and completed by the Active Ageing Strategy.
Dr Justyne Caruana thanked the members of the team who work with such dedication.
