Following the success of the first edition of NSTF Science Days in Gozo, organised by the National Student Travel Foundation – Malta (NSTF), the NSTF Secretary General as well as the NSTF Science team visited the Ministry for Gozo to give their thanks for hosting this event at the Ministry.
NSTF said that it believes in non-formal learning “and this event in Gozo encourages Gozitan students to be creative and original in the way they view, and hopefully, develop a passion for science.”
The NSTF Science Coordinators commented that they were also impressed at the turnout for this event, with about 1000 students participating and visiting the Ministry. Many have already expressed interest in attending or participating next year.
Matthew Attard, Luke and Shaun Galea from the Boys’ Secondary School Gozo, who won the first edition on NSTF Science Days in Gozo shared their experience and presented a report to the Gozo Minister.
The report included their experience during a visit to the Belgian Expo Sciences 2014.
Dr Refalo congratulated these students and was pleased that with such initiatives Gozitan students had the opportunity to experience science in such a unique way while getting in touch with fellow students from other European Countries.
The Minister said that “such educational benefits helped to put Gozo on par with similar science activities organised by NSTF in Malta, and the Ministry for Gozo, one of the main sponsors, will again support next year’s edition of NSTF Science Days in Gozo.”
