23rd edition of the Xaghra Youth Games entertain large crowds

The 23rd edition of the Xaghra Youth Games was held on Sunday evening in the main square.
The entertainment was enjoyed by large crowds people of all ages, both locals and tourists who had taken the opportunity to combine an evening of fun with the history of Malta
The Xaghra Youth Games games are based on Malta’s history and folklore with titles including the building of Ggantija, Ulysse’s arrival in Gozo and the meeting with Calypso, the expulsion of the French from Malta, the Great siege of Malta and the feast of our lady of Victories.
About 100 people, mainly youths, participated, divided into 4 teams with titles connected with Xaghra with names as Odissini, Sanvernini, Sansuniti, and Giganti.
As well as the spectacle of the games, the show included dancing by several groups and folk dancing.
The games are organised by the Xaghra Youth Centre in collaboration with the Xaghra Local Council.
