Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.4 per cent in August over the previous month. When compared to August 2013, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 6.8 per cent.

In August, the overall seasonally adjusted index of industrial production increased by 0.4 per cent to 93.9 points. Increases were registered in the production of capital goods (+1.1 per cent), energy (+1.0 per cent) and consumer goods (+0.8 per cent). On the other hand, the production of intermediate goods went down by 0.7 per cent.

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went down by 6.8 per cent. Decreases were registered in all the main industrial groupings. The production of intermediate goods, energy, consumer goods and capital goods went down by 16.3, 3.8, 3.1 and 1.9 per cent respectively.
