Industrial production increased slightly by 0.1% in October – NSO

Seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.1 per cent in October over the previous month. When compared to October 2013, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 0.7 per cent.

In October, the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production increased by 0.1 per cent to 94.8 points. Increases were registered in the production of capital goods (+3.3 per cent), consumer goods (+2.2 per cent) and intermediate goods (+0.1 per cent). On the other hand, the production of energy went down by 2.3 per cent.

When compared to the corresponding month last year, the index of industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 0.7 per cent. Increases were registered in the production of capital goods (+7.7 per cent) and consumer goods (+5.7 per cent).

On the other hand, the production of intermediate goods and energy went down by 4.9 and 3.5 per cent respectively.
