During a press conference, held today at Vini & Capricci in Gozo, it was announced that after an absence of 13 years, the Gozo Sports Board is organising the Gozo Sports Awards.

They said that this will be a worthy and appropriate appreciation for those who work hard to achieve their goals, as well as to those who help others gain their success.

The organisers said that it does not mean that “the winner has worked harder than those who have not been awarded the prize. But in life someone has to be among the winners, and those who have not been awarded today will aim towards a win in the future.

Maybe some clubs and athletes aren’t recognized by KMS but Gozo Sports Board has recognized the efforts & volunteer work been done in sports. I am proud to be a Gozo Athlete; it’s hard for us when we are so limited with our facilities. The Maltese have access to more training facilities but I think Gozo athletes do really well with what we have. I’m glad athletes here are being recognized.
