The National Centre for Family Research, as part of the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, is conducting a study of couple relationships in Gozo and Malta.

The objective of this research is to improve understanding of the strengths and challenges in couple relationships today. By means of this study, the National Centre for Family Research hopes to help increase knowledge about the lived realities of people in different types of relationships as well as those who are single, and to contribute to the formation of couple therapists and other professionals who work to support people in this area.

The study will be conducted by the National Statistics Office through a confidential telephone interview, addressed at persons who would be 18 or over in 2015. Anonymity in the use of results is guaranteed.

Members of the public are advised to expect a telephone call from the NSO in the coming months asking them to participate in this survey.

Only a random sample of the population will be contacted, and the survey will take around 10 minutes to complete. During this time, respondents will be interviewed over the telephone about their opinions and experience of couple relationship.

All contributions would be helpful to this study, regardless of whether respondents are presently in a relationship or not.
