Gozo University Group elects its new executive during AGMThis morning, a new executive for the Gozo University Group (GUG) was elected. The Annual General Meeting was held at the Gozo University Campus, chaired by Francienne Muscat, with approximately 60 members in attendance.

During the AGM, the Presidential, Administrative and financial reports were brought forward by the attendants, this was followed by a speech given by the previous executive regarding the work which had been carried out throughout the year.

The last serving President, Shaun Azzopardi, spoke about his experience within the organisation and the various obstacles faced. Due to end in term, he officially said that he would no longer be part of the GUG executive. Hence, Denis Muscat was appointed as the new President.

Previously, Denis was serving as the PRO for the same executive. He expressed with great enthusiasm his commitment towards GUG, as well as his eagerness to work with the new team in order to represent the Gozitan students.

An election was held for the Social Policy Officer as there were multiple candidates who applied for the post. William Vella was elected as Social Policy Officer after obtaining the vast majority of votes.

GUG thanked Shaun Azzopardi, Matthew Vella, Loredana Grech and Sarah Scerri for their loyalty and hard work during the past year.

The following are the newly elected executive members followed by their role in GUG:

President: Denis Muscat

Vice-President: Joseph Louis Grech

Administration Secretary: Lauriann Azzopardi

Information Secretary: Loretta Grech

Financial Officer: Loradine Pisani

Public Relations Officer: Maria Dimech

Events Officer: Francesco Caruana

Education Officer: Deborah Caruana

International Officer: Rachel Galea

Social Policy Officer: William Vella

Marketing Officer: John Clyde Grima.
