GHRA Annual General Meeting reports a record year for the Association

The Gozo Horse Racing Association held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday at Xhajma Racetrack Gozo. This was well attended by horse owners, handlers, and numerous members of the association.
In her opening address the GHRA President, Mrs. Mary Mifsud Micallef said that during the 2014/2015 season, Xhajma Racetrack benefited from improved infrastructure and embellishment on the whole premises and today the track and its surroundings is more welcoming to members and respective families.
She also gave a detailed report on the work and initiatives undertaken during the course of last season and thanked to all those who assisted and helped the association especially the Sponsors, the officials of the Marsa Racing Club and the Ministry for Gozo. The President also had a word of appreciation to the members of the committee, workers of the racetrack and numerous volunteers.
Following her speech a discussion was held during which the members present had the opportunity to air their proposals and suggestions on how to improve the running of the Associations and the horse races.
The GHRA’s Treasurer, Mr. Paul Scicluna presented a detailed report on the financial situation of the Association which this year showed a record turnover and positive result. He also thanked the Association’s clerk, Mr. Anthony Pace and the Sport Chief of the Association, Mr. Anton Pace for their sheer dedication.

That’s the first reference I have seen to ANY event at the Gozo Racecourse.
Do they ever have horse-racing there, too? (Because the only time I see it, it’s on a specially closed road.)
