For the second consecutive year the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing, is launching a scheme whereby elderly people can apply to acquire tickets for the operas in Gozo.
This scheme has been made possible through an agreement between the Astra and Aurora Theatres together with the Parliamentary Secretariat.
The elderly who can benefit from this scheme will have the opportunity to attend the operas La Traviata on the 17th of October and La Boheme on the 29th of October.
Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana, said that this initiative encourages elderly people to stay active and at the same time it is helping and promoting culture and tourism in Gozo.
The established criteria to be able to benefit from the scheme are:
• The applicant must be over 60 years
• The applicant must provide proof of participation in society
• The amount of tickets is limited so only a set number will be able to benefit. After reviewing the applications, eligible applicants will be given the tickets on a first come first served basis
• Priority is given to those applicants who did not benefit from this scheme last year.
Applications may be obtained from the Office of the Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing, or by calling 25903175.
