The Gozo Business Chamber said today that a survey recently carried out in a local newspaper found that 60% of Gozitans are in favour of a subsea tunnel between Gozo and Malta.

"This reflects the situation many Gozitans find themselves in in their daily problems of having to cross over to Malta to get to their place of work, health appointments, business meetings and so on and to return home later in the day," the GBC said.

The Gozo Business Chamber said that it once again, would like to encourage the authorities to "speed up the preparations to produce the social and geological studies needed for this essential project which, we are sure, will not only mitigate some of the hardships encountered by Gozitans in their daily commute between the islands but this project would also be of importance to the whole country."
