For students of the `Happy School' in Victoria, the last day of school before the Christmas holidays was one they will not easily forget.
A bright and sunny morning welcomed more than 350 boys and girls as they arrived at school in readiness for a much-awaited picnic. However, this was to be a day with a difference, the children had no idea that the picnic was to be held at the Gozo Heliport and that a big surprise was on the way.
The children were transported to the heliport by a train, coaches and hop on hop off buses. Father Christmas arrived by helicopter. But this time round there was no Father Christmas but Destiny Chukunyere the winner of this year's Junior Eurovision Contest. Destiny met the school children and sang `Not my Soul,' for the cheering children.
Head of School Lelio Spiteri thanked all those who helped in making this activity possible. He stressed that this is in line with the school's motto, that of being a `Happy School!'
The Gozo College Victoria Primary said that it promises its students that they will remember their primary school days all their lives.
