Update 2: L-Istrina.2015 is underway in Gozo and Malta, the aim is break last year’s record collected in donations of €3.65 million. The amount collected by 10.00pm was €3,000,000. In Malta, the televised charity telethon, with the theme this year of `Faith, Hope and Charity’,  is being hosted by President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, at the Kottonera Sports Complex.

Boxing Day has become synonymous with the annual charity fundraising event L-Istrina. Over the years this body has helped many individuals, families and entities in Gozo.

Gozitans are once again having the opportunity to join in this marathon fundraising event. A programme of entertainment by local talent – Gozo Boxing Day Talent Show in Aid of MCCF – was held today in Victoria, near the Arkadia Complex.

This evening the fun continues at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, from 6.00pm to 11.30pm, when there will be a live broadcast from Gozo, on TVM2 and the FLiving TV Channel.

Novel and the D Capital’s Band will be performing during the evening, as well as Gozitan singers, choirs and dancers and the services will be on offer of a hairdresser and beautician for donations.
