The Gozo University Group (GUG) has said that it is deeply disappointed with the current situation regarding the new X1 bus routes and has demanded that the problems on the route be fixed immediately

Holding it's last meeting with Transport Malta, GUG said that it was satisfied as "new and improved routes were to be introduced, being promised that the bus timetables will be timed to arrive in time for the scheduled ferry."

"Although during the meeting two important details were left out," which GUG said that it only to realised once the routes started to run.

The GUG said that, due to the fact that X1 is now passing through Mellieha students have noticed that the changes made have lengthened the trip. "To add insult to injury, the X1 route no longer stops at Mater Dei Hospital, causing significant inconvenience to Health students, workers and patients alike."

"GUG find themselves frustrated by the situation as these two essential details were left unmentioned during their meeting with Transport Malta."

Starting from Monday, GUG stated that it will make sure all the measures are taken in order to safeguard student's interest.

GUG President, Denis Muscat said "we are aware of the situation and find it unacceptable. These changes were meant to be positive but have left Gozitan students frustrated. We will hold the meetings required to make sure a solution is found immediately and excuses such as feasibility will not be accepted "
