Five days of Carnival fun in Gozo came to a close last night in Victoria, with the Grand Finalé along Republic Street to Fortunato Mizzi Street.

Many hundreds turned out to watch this very popular last evening of events, which included Carnival Dance Companies, grotesque masques, carnival floats, bands and Carnival Folk Dance.Carnival time attracts thousands to Gozo to enjoy the colour and spectacle of the events which take place across the island, as well as the revelry at the Nadur Spontaneous Carnival. This year was no different, and with the added bonus of fine weather, the island was buzzing with activity over the weekend, resulting in a busy time for accommodation providers and restaurants, with retail outlets also reporting good business.
