The Ministry for Education and Employment has announced that mature students will, for the first time, receive a full stipend without the need to provide income documents, provided that they fulfil the required obligations stipulated by the responsible legislation.

The Ministry said that this measure was done to further encourage mature students to continue their studies by making them more affordable.

It added that that for next pay there is will be a further increase to stipends through a pro rata COLA adjustment which is to be received by all students.
