Malta Public Transport will be implementing a number of changes to bus routes serving Mater Dei Hospital and the University of Malta as from Sunday, the 6th of March, following a decision by the Transport Authority.

All routes serving Mater Dei Hospital will now serve both Bus Stop Sptar (at the hospital’s main entrance) and Bus Stop Universita’ (on the University side) before proceeding onto their respective journeys.

Passengers will now be able to start their journey from the bus stop at the hospital’s main entrance as well as from the bus stop at the University side of the hospital.

Furthermore, most routes serving Mater Dei Hospital will no longer serve St Luke’s Hospital, meaning passengers will therefore enjoy shorter journeys to Mater Dei Hospital.

From the 6th of March, Route 122 between Valletta and St Luke’s Hospital will run every 20 minutes between Monday and Saturday, and every 30 minutes on Sundays. This route will also proceed to Mater Dei Hospital.

Route 47 will continue to serve St Luke’s Hospital every hour. This means that four buses every hour will operate between St Luke’s Hospital and Valletta and three buses every hour will operate between St Luke’s Hospital and Mater Dei Hospital.
