Charlene, together with Gary the Mascot from GreenPak, visited Gozo College San Lawrenz Primary school last week to present the school with a trophy for winning the Irricikla ghall-Istrina activity.

The school came first out of all the schools in Malta and Gozo for the number of caps collected per student, with a grand total of 820kg of plastic caps.

During the visit on Thursday the children also got the chance to raise the trophy themselves – something they truly deserved.

For each kilogramme that was collected by the school, GreenPak gave a donation to the Community Chest Fund and a representation of students from the GC San Lawrenz Primary went along for the presentation of the cheque, which took place in January.

These caps were collected thanks to the help of the students, staff and volunteers, and the school gave thanks to all those involved in this great achievement.

When the caps were picked up, the students and teachers took the opportunity to test out their Mathematical skills such as estimation of weight, reading of weighing scales and calculation of totals.
