Front Favur il-Mina has said that it will be organising free transport to all those willing to participate in the National Conference on accessibility for Gozo being held on Saturday, the 16th of April.
As previously announced, the National Conference ‘Insahhu l-Accessibiltà bejn Malta u Ghawdex,’ will be held in Gozo at the Grand Hotel, from 9am onwards.
The conference will be organised in conjunction with Circolo Gozitano and the aim is to discuss accessibility between Malta and Gozo with the general public, including the subject of the tunnel proposal, such as risks, technical issues and challenges.
Front Favur il-Mina will be also organising free transport from every locality in Gozo. Bookings can be made via their Facebook page on https://www.facebook.com/FrontFavurMina or SMS on 99841195.
More speakers have accepted the Front’s invitation to participate in this first National Conference on accessibility.
Profs Godfrey Baldacchino – Godfrey Baldacchino Ph.D. is a Maltese social scientist. He is Professor of Sociology at the University of Malta. He will present his findings on how small islands were connected to the mainland by means of a permanent link.
Dr Peter Gatt – Peter Gatt is a Maltese geologist specialising in carbonate sedimentology (limestone), limestone quarrying and engineering geology. He is a senior lecturer at the Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST). His presentation will focus on the geological aspects between Malta and Gozo.
Dr Simon Mizzi – Simon Mizzi Ph.D. is an engineer currently lecturing at the University of Malta in the mechanical engineering field. His presentation will focus on the health and safety issues involved in building a tunnel.
Joe Cordina – Executive Chairman of Gozo Channel. He is an Accountant by profession and started out as a sole practitioner in 1994, having already established himself as a respected player in the business with a long career in a number of companies.
Michael Grech – Representing the Gozo Business Chamber. He is the Managing Director of local financial services firm.
Joe Muscat – The CEO of the Gozo Tourism Association.
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and the Leader of Opposition Simon Busuttil, will open this National Conference and Journalist Keith Demicoli will be moderating the debate.
