A 78-year-old German diver lost his life whilst diving in Xwejni Bay, Marsalforn this morning.
The Police said that the incident happened about 11am. The man, who was unconscious, was brought ashore by one of the eight divers who were accompanying him.
The man was assisted by a medical team on site, but was later taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, the man lost his life.
Duty Magistrate was informed about the case and appointed an inquiry.
Police investigations are ongoing.
