Update: A 58-year old German diver is in a critical condition at the Gozo General Hospital after she found herself in difficulty in Dwejra, Gozo.

The Police said that they were called to the site at about 11.00am this morning. Preliminary investigations found that the woman, who was part of a group of divers, found herself in difficulty and was taken ashore by a boat.

Even though she was conscious, the woman was rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police officers from the Victoria Police Station are investigating the case. A Magisterial Inquiry has been appointed.
