The San Lawrenz Local Council said today that it has now been included on the Dwejra Steering Committee, which was initially announced in July bu without a representative from the Local Council.

"We are grateful that common sense prevailed and look forward to working for sustainable solutions in managing this most precious part of our island home," the Council said.

The Steering Committee also includes:

· Dr Timmy Gambin as Chairperson;

· Architect Michelle Piccinino represents the Environment and Resources Authority;

· Mr Herman Galea represents the Directorate of Parks;

· Architect Kevin Fsadni representing the Malta Tourism Authority;

· Ms Amity Gauci representing the Ministry for Gozo;

· Mr Vincent Attard representing Nature Trust (Malta);

· Monsignor Joseph Vella Gauci representing the Maltese National Commission for UNESCO;

· Mr Michael Stivala representing the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA).
