The Xaghra based group of voluntary youths and adolescents, The Guiding Light Group, first took on the challenge of organising the very first live crib on the island of Gozo sixteen years ago.

Last year, the Group decided to change the presentation of this activity and came up with a totally new take to its execution by organising Presepju Suq u Mexxi – another first for the Maltese islands.

Following the success of the first edition of Presepju Suq u Mexxi, the Group said that, in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, Xaghra Local Council, Gozo Christmas and Ghaqda Milied fix-Xaghra, they are proud to organise this activity again.

Presepju Suq u Mexxi is a particular project where visitors embark on an interactive drive-through the Nativity scene in the idyllic Ghajn Hosna Road leading to Ramla bay. Drivers and their passengers will get a front row moving seat through the Nativity story where through the acted word a new form of evangelisation will take place. This event can only be organised with the help of around 200 volunteers from Xaghra.

This year, visitors will be able to visit the Nativity story on Monday, the 26th, Tuesday, the 27th and Wednesday, the 28th of December, from 5:00pm till 10:00pm. Entrance is free of charge and visiting drivers are kindly reminded that the event will be accessible only from Ghajn Qasab Road, Nadur if they are accompanied by at least three passengers.

Due to the nature of the event, visitors will not be allowed to walk or cycle through the Nativity story. Additionally, large vehicles such as buses and minibuses will not be allowed to go through.
