The Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo, accompanied by members of the Christmas in Gozo Committee, visited several retail establishments, that had once again given their support to the Christmas in Gozo programme.
“With the contribution of these, together with financial support, human resources, management and the public relations of the Ministry for Gozo, we have a programme filled with activities spread across Gozo.”
The Minister visited Vini e Capricci, Savina Tradition and Heritage, Arkadia Shopping Complex, and The Duke’s Shopping Complex.
Dr Refalo said that over the past weeks, a record number of people had yet again visited Gozo. Among the attractions visited were Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem, the Christmas Parade, and Children’s World. These attractions plus the many varied activities planned across the island for the festive period, attract hundreds of people, both local and tourists to visit Gozo, giving added stimulus to the economy, he said
He remarked that The Christmas in Gozo Committee had received very positive feedback from retailers, as well as restaurants, with some staying open all day due to the large number of customers.
Dr Refalo said “I want to thank the Christmas in Gozo Committee, the various Directorates within the Ministry for Gozo for their input, as well as the operators of many businesses in Gozo, and the Malta Tourism Authority for their support in the activities being organised, as well as the Gozitan Local Councils.”
The Minister also thanked all those employees “who are providing a good service with a smile, such as the employees of Gozo Channel, the Police and Civil Protection, among others.”
