Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing Justyne Caruana, joined in the fun this week during a Christmas visit to Kercem, to meet the participants on the programme of physical activity and sports for the elderly in Gozo, which was made possible through an agreement reached with Gozo Football Club, Kercem Ajax FC.

Dr Caruana said that the project continues is a great success and will be continued next year. Applications open in January for those interested in joining. Those already attending have no need to reapply.

The programme, for the over 60s, consists of sessions led by qualified coaches, suitable for the elderly through physical activity, sports and information sessions on health and nutrition. The activities take place in the sports complex at Kercem, which also has a rehabilitation pool.
