Kercem Ajax midfielder Elton Vella won the BOV GFA Player of the Month award for November 2016.

Elton was a protagonist in the two important victories obtained by Kercem Ajax in the BOV Gozo Football League against SK Victoria Wanderers and Xaghra United. Vella scored two goals in their 3-1 victory over the Wanderers and had a fine performance in their 2-0 win against Xaghra. The points obtained from these games helped Kercem move up the league table to contend for the main award.

Thirty-three year old Elton started his career with Kercem Ajax but played with several other teams in Gozo as well as in the MFA First Division with Vittoriosa, Zejtun and Mosta. The pluri-decorated player boasts the MFA Player of the Year for the first division when he played for Mosta.

Elton has been recovering into his best form following a long lay-off due to an injury and is confident to help Kercem challenge for the championship.

Mr Horace Laudi, Regional Manager for Gozo at Bank of Valletta presented the BOV GFA Player of the Month trophy to Elton who chose the Foundation for refugee children in Syria to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
