The number of services offered and the infrastructure itself are both to be extended at the Ghajnsielem Learning Hub in Gozo.
This was announced yesterday during an activity organised at the Hub by Agenzija Sapport.
Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana, during her address for the occasion, described this project as a living memorial in aid of disability in Gozo.
She stressed the Government’s commitment to embark on a project of extending services to allow more accessibility by disabled persons.
This would be in addition to the existing services in place, including the Agenzija Sapport offices, Jobs Plus, MCA and FITA.
Among the new services mentioned, Dr Caruana said there was the service of a Personal Assistant, as well as JESS – Job Enhancement Skills Scheme, which is a new concept that offers an opportunity of employment and training for people with disabilities.
Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana concluded by thanking all the staff and management who work at the Ghajnsielem Learning Hub and Agenzija Sapport, and said that their relentless work for the disabled has been translated into such successful results in this sector for Gozo.
