A courtesy visit to the Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana by the Chamber of Fashion Malta, has taken place as part of the activities organised by the Chamber – Alta Moda sotto le Stelle – a fashion show by Renato Balestra held in Valletta last week.

The delegation was led by Dr Juliana Scerri Ferranti, founder of the Chamber of Fashion Malta Foundation, and included world-renowned Italian fashion designer Renato Balestra, the name behind Maison Balestra.

The role of fashion in the promotion of art and culture, was discussed during the meeting, as well as how the industry could be a valuable tool for tourism.

Minister Justyne Caruana, stressed that with what Gozo has to offer, they should explore the potential of this sector. Dr Caruana urged for greater collaboration and with this in mind, she said that the meeting had served as a good basis for future talks.

The delegation members also had the opportunity to visit several locations around Gozo, including the Citadel, on which they commented that they found it a very interesting site for future discussions.

Dr Caruana expressed her satisfaction with the meeting and reiterated her support for initiatives related to the field of fashion in Gozo, thereby offering a future innovative niche in the tourism industry.
