A 73-year old Danish man lost his life today whilst diving in Gozo.

Gozo Police received a call at around 11am for their assistance at Xatt l-Ahmar, Ghajnsielem, after a man found himself in difficulty while diving.

Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department were immediately called to the site and a search was started with the help of a diving team and rescue dinghy.

Police said that this evening at 6.45pm a body was seen in the vicinities of Armier, which was later confirmed as that of the missing Danish man.

A Magisterial inquiry was appointed while Police investigations are on going.
