Students attending primary and secondary schools in Gozo, are participating in the Skolasport programme held every Saturday at the Gozo Sports Complex. These activities include several sports disciplines such as table-tennis, cycling, football skills, hip-hop, breakdance, lawn tennis, gymnastics, indoor climbing, martial arts, handball and basketball.

Recently though, Skolasport children participated in a different kind of activity, as the Gozo Sports Complex premises were occupied by another activity. Instead of their usual activities, the children attended an open day activity held at the Zebbug Shooting Range.

The activity started with a walk from Zebbug Square to the Shooting Range where a demonstration in Archery and Clay shooting was held, followed by an explanation by authorized professional personnel about the benefits and the danger of practicing such sports. The children were also shown around the premises before proceeding on foot to Xwejni and Marsalforn.

The activity was coordinated by the Ghajn Melel Shooting Range Committee and the Gozo Sports Complex.

Skolasport activities have been organised in Gozo for the past eleven years through the initiative of the Ministry for Gozo and the coordination of the Gozo Sports Complex.
