The Malta Union of Teachers has called for a two-hour strike on Friday, which will affect all state and church schools, only special schools are excluded from the strike directive.

The strike is being called after 18-months of talks have failed to resolve any of the pending issues on the unions collective agreement.

The strike will affect all supply teachers, kindergarten assistants and learning support assistants, and they have been directed to report to school two hours later than usual.

The union is therefore “strongly advising” parents to take their children to school two hours after their usual attendance time.
