Malta International Airport have announced that whilst pursuing its efforts to enhance and embellish the travel experience for customers at MIA, ongoing developments are taking place that further attract shoppers to explore MIA’s newly refurbished areas.

A welcome addition is ‘The Spirit of Malta’ a retail outlet which offers an extensive range of traditional Maltese products all under one roof. The innovative concept is typical of NUANCE stores which are being opened in major Airports throughout the world.

At ‘The Spirit of Malta’ on a surface area of 85 square metres travellers may purchase a variety of souvenirs of Malta which are genuinely characteristic of the Islands traditions, these include, pottery, glassware, lace, stone carved items and local crafts. Moreover constant food and wine tasting takes place for customers to sample indigenous delicatessen, wines and liqueurs.

The novel retail outlet has been operative since Christmas following the determining tender process. It is open on a 24 hour basis seven days a week in the Schengen departures area and has been designed by a team of Maltese architects and designers.
