The Gozo Business Chamber presently holds the presidency of INSULEUR (Insular Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the European Union).

This year the GBC in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo, will be organising the 2-day INSULEUR Forum in Gozo, with the theme – Digital Transformation of European Islands

Day 1 will be dedicated to a discussion of a position paper (to be presented to the EU institutions) on State Aid to be discussed by the INSULEUR delegates.

Site visits to specialised sectors of the Gozitan economy will also be organised on the day.

Day 2 will be dedicated to the topic of ‘Digitalisation on Islands’ and will explore the following themes: Digitalisation of Insular Economies and SMEs and Digitalisation of Insular Chambers; Shaping a Strategy for the Digitalisation of European Islands.

A number of renowned international and local speakers, including several MEPs will be discussing the Digitalisation of Insular Economies during the Forum.

The speakers will include among others, Linda Randall (Nordegio International Research Centre) , Tony Moretta (Digital Jersey), Elias Michelioudakis (Management Consultant at European Commission), Christophe Riedmann (Policy Adviser, Eurochambres), Michael Aim (Head of Digital Transformation), Giannis Roussos (President Cyclades Chamber), Vasilis Salapatas (Head of IT Department, Athens CCI).

The GBC said that during the event a Networking Lunch will provide the opportunity for interaction between local and international participants. Kindly register attendance for free here, by Friday, the 18th of October.

The Forum is taking place on the 24th and 25th of October, at the Grand Hotel, Mgarr, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
