Work has been initiated to start on Triq il-Munxar, in the village of Munxar to the side of the Xlendi Valley.
The Minister for Gozo Justyne Caruana said, Project Gozo – roads in your locality – is an ambitious project of the Ministry for Gozo relating to the island’s infrastructure in order to meet the demands of traffic for the present and the future.”
Project Gozo started with 50 roads and now involves 70 across the island and this in less than two years, the Minister said.
“This is a project that is being carried out on roads around the island in collaboration with local councils and Triq il-Munxar has been identified as one of them,” said Minister Caruana
Under an agreement made last year between the Ministry for Gozo and the Munxar local council, the street is to be a part of this holistic project and the Ministry will issue the funds for the works, Dr Caruana said
She added that the council was responsible for issuing the tender and ensuring that the work is carried out as per the agreement and in the specified time.
Mayor of Munxar Damien Spiteri thanked Minister Justyne Caruana and said that he is looking forward to other such projects.
