Gozo Catholic Action is inviting women – including non-members – to a “Get together with the Lord” at its headquarters in Triq Sir Arturo Mercieca, Victoria, on Tuesday, the 19th of November.
A Mass, led by Canon George Frendo at 9am will open the morning programme and continues with a coffee break, powerpoint reflection and Eucharistic Adoration.
The celebration concludes at 10.45am with a Sacramental Blessing.
“Get Together” for Women by Gozo Catholic Action… The schools are getting more mixed boys and girls, Parlament and Politics are always urging for more participation of women, therefore mixed forces and minds and to get together with the Lord, have a Mass, coffee, powerpoint reflection, and Eucharist, men are banned so are children. Why are women still segregated in the Church?

The Catholic Church does not dictate to people how they are to seat themselves when in worship. There is no rule of segregation to create effectiveness. What makes a worship service “effective” is our desire to be one, and unity is not a matter of who sits where.
We believe that Christ revealed to us that all are one in God. It reflects God’s nature as one, and we are created in God’s own image. St. Paul writes of this in Galatians (3:28) “There is no longer Jew or Greek … male and female; for all of you are one in Christ.”
Therefore we must want to create and to sustain unity. So in one sense, sitting together, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age or economics is a way of consciously making visible the invisible unity within the community. Then for effectiveness, we must also live this always beyond worship services.
