The Central Bank of Malta has signed a one-year sponsorship agreement with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

Through the agreement the MPO will be providing a number of concerts, including residents of Dar tal-Providenza, who will be in for a treat this Christmas thanks to a concert organised by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation.

Encouraged by the success of an outreach concert at St Vincent de Paul Residence last year, the Foundation is also sponsoring an MPO concert at Hospice Malta next year.

This sponsorship was first provided by the Central Bank of Malta in 2017/2019 and has now been taken over by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation for 2020.

The agreement was signed by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation chairman, Fr Marius Zerafa, and by the executive chairman of the MPO, Sigmund Mifsud.

Through this agreement, the MPO will also present a concert for the Central Bank of Malta in December 2020.

The MPO said that corporate partnerships help support key areas of the Orchestra’s work, and through this partnership agreement, the Bank will be supporting the purchase of orchestral instruments, the Orchestra’s internship programme – through which promising young musicians are given the opportunity to prepare for making a career out of music – as well as the Malta Youth Orchestra.
