The JP2 Foundation of Gozo is holding a Penitential Service with a difference for this year’s Lent, which will be taking place on the first Friday after Carnival.

The JP2 Foundation is this time holding a spiritual event with a difference to mark a number of special events that are taking place this May.

These are on Monday 18th of May, the 100th anniversary of the Birth of Karol Wojtyla; Monday 25th till Wednesday 27th of May, the 30th anniversary commemoration of the first Pontiff to visit Malta; while Tuesday, the 26th of May, the commemoration of the visit to Gozo by Pope Saint John Paul II and the first Mass by a Pontiff on Maltese soil.

Also this May, the Maltese Islands will play host to the third Pontiff to visit, as Pope Francis will be visiting the two dioceses on Sunday, the 30th of May.

For this Friday’s spiritual event, music students from the Junior College will be animating the evening which is composed of poetry and literature while Rev Can Geoffrey Attard will be sharing some spiritual thoughts.

The Service will take place at Saint Margaret Parish Church Sannat, this coming Friday, the 28th of February,starting at 6.45pm.

The JP2 Foundation said that the event is being organised in full collaboration with Sannat Parish Church and the Sannat Local Council.
