Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Dr Anton Refalo, has said that like many sectors, farmers are also being affected by the measures being taken to reduced the spread of Covid-19 in Malta
He added that one of the consequences of the measures which came into force this week, is that the farmers’ market at Ta’ Qali can not be held.
“My Ministry is working to find a solution so that farmers can sell their products in this market. At such times, we appreciate more the work of farmers and local production,” Dr Refalo said.
The Minister stressed that he will be looking after the interests of the Maltese and Gozitan farmers, and would follow and give his full support to those who are working to find a solution as soon as possible.
“Courage to jointly overcome the difficulties and challenges of this pandemic,” Dr Refalo said.
