During Tuesday’s daily briefing on the Covid-19 situation, Supt of Public Health Prof Charmaine Gauci advised that 12 new cases had been reported in the past 24-hours, which include 3 at Hal Far.

24 more have recovered, they are aged between 10 and 80-years old, with 150 patients recovered in total. These cases will remain under quarantine for 14 days.

Prof Gauci said that there are 443 cases, with 290 which are currently active. There have been 3 deaths.

She explained that 726 swab tests had been carried out on Monday, adding that in several of the cases contact tracing will be carried out.

Prof Gauci once again reiterated her appeal that the public should attend for their appointments for swab tests, adding that hundreds had failed to show over the past days, with authorities in the process of contacting all of them.

While the number of positive cases varies day by day, Prof Gauci said that the health authorities are remaining totally vigilant with regard to the global situation in order to follow the planned strategy “that keeps in mind a second wave of cases.”
